Programs and Plumbing/HVAC Licensure

Hawkeye Community
College is offering an information session about licensure for plumbers
and HVAC professionals and an information session for businesses
interested in beginning an apprenticeship program on May 14.
Cindy Houlson, Executive Officer for the State Plumbing Board, will
discuss the new state licensing procedures and rules that require
plumbing, HVAC refrigeration and hydronics professionals to obtain a
license in order to work in the state of Iowa. The session will begin
at 10:00am.
Bob Snyder with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship,
will hold a question and answer session for businesses interested in
beginning a registered apprenticeship program for electricians,
plumbers or HVAC specialists. Program processes and the guidelines will
also be discussed. This session will begin at 11:00am.
Both sessions will take place at the Cedar Falls Center, 5330 Nordic
